The Deliverance of Jagai and Madhai
TEXT 351
ära-bära
nityananda sambhrama päiyä dilena nay one jala nirghäta kariyä
With
renewed enthusiasm Nityananda forcefully splashed water in Advaita's eyes.
TEXT 352
advaita
pàiyä duhkha bale,—"mätäliyä sannyäsé nä haya kabhu brähmana vadhiyä
Advaita became
distressed and said, "You are intoxicated. You can never become a sannyäsé
by killing a brähmana.
When
Nityananda forcefully splashed water, Advaita Prabhu was hurt and said,
"You certainly cannot become a sannyäsé by killing a brähmana out of
intoxication."
TEXT 353
paçcimära
ghare ghare fehäiyäche bhäta kula, janma, jäti keha näjäne kothä'ta
"You
have eaten in the houses of people from the west. No one knows about Your
family, birth, or caste.
Those who
are particularly proud of their country certainly speak harshly about
foreigners. People of the east condemn the people of the west as paçcimä, or
westerners. They criticize them by calling them low-born. No one knew what
family, what class, or what place Nityänanda hailed from. He would wander about,
eating in the houses of westerners.
TEXT 354
pita,
mätå, guru,—nähi jäni ye hi-rüpa? hhäya, pare sakala, balåya 'avadhüta'"
"No
one knows about Your father, mother, or spiritual master. You eat everything,
wear everything, and advertise Yourself as an avadhüta."
"We
have no information about Your father, mother, or what kind of spiritual master
You have accepted. You are passing as an avadhüta and accepting food and
charity from anyone and everyone."
TEXT 355
nityänanda-prati
stava kare vyapadeçe çunï nityänanda-prabhu gana-saha häse
As Advaita
indirectly glorified Nityänanda on the pretext of criticizing Him, Nityänanda
Prabhu and His associates laughed.
The
statements of Advaita are deceiving. They are indicative of Çré Nityänanda's
glories. On hearing the words of Çré Advaita, Nityänanda Prabhu and His
followers began to laugh.
TEXT 356
"samhärimu
sakala, mohära dosa näi" eta balï krodhe jvale äcärya-gosäìi
Äcärya
Gosäìi burned with anger as He exlaimed, "It will not be My fault when I
destroy everyone."
äcäryera
krodhe häse bhägavata-gana krodhe tattva kahe—yena çuni' kuvacana
Seeing
Advaita Äcärya's anger, all the devotees laughed. In anger He actually spoke
the truth, which appeared as harsh words.
TEXT 358
hena
rasa-kalahera marma nä bujhiyä bhinna-jìäne ninde, \ande, se mare pudiyä
Without
understanding the purport of such loving quarrels, if someone considering Them
different from each other criticizes one and glorifies the other, he will be
burned to death.
Those
foolish people who cannot enter into the loving quarrels of Advaita and
Nityananda criticize one and glorify the other, and as a result they are burned
to death in the forest fire of offense.
TEXT 359
nityänanda-gauracäìda
yåre krpä kare sei se vaisnava-väkya bujhibäre pare
Only one
who is favored by Nityananda and Gauracandra can understand the words of the
Vaisnavas.
TEXT 360

The two
Prabhus were greatly intoxicated with the mellows of love for Gauracandra.
Thereafter Nityänanda floated around in the waters of the Ganges.
TEXT 362
hena-mate
jala-keli kértcmera çese pratirätrì sabä laìå kare prabhu rase
In this
way the Lord and His associates engaged every night in water sports after
kïrtana.
TEXT 363

dekhite manusyera sàkti näi sabe dekhe deva-gana sangope tathäi
Human
beings have no power to see such pastimes, but the demigods secretly watched
them.

The Lord
entrusted Jagäi and Mädhäi to the devotees and then offered His own garlands to
the two.
TEXT 367
e saba
lllära kabhu avadhi nä haya 'ävirbhäva', 'tirobhäva' mätra vede kaya
Although
the Vedas describe their "appearance" and "disap-
pearance," these pastimes have no beginning and no end.

of unlimited universes offered prayers to all the devotees and then began to
eat.
TEXT 371

santose mahäprasäda päiyä mukha-çuddhi kari' dväre vasilä äsiyä
After
honoring the mahä-prasäda with great satisfaction, the Lord purified His mouth
and sat down in the doorway.
vadhü-saìge
dekhe äi nayana bhariyä mahänanda-sägare çarïra dubäiyä
As mother
Çacé and her daughter-in-law saw these pastimes of the Lord to the full
satisfaction of their eyes, they floated in an ocean of bliss.

Who can
describe the limit of mother Çacé's good fortune? Only the thousand-headed Lord
is able, if He is empowered.
TEXT 374
präkrta-çabde
o yebä balibefea 'äi' 'äi' çabda-prabhäve o tära duhkha näi
Even if
one utters the word äi as a mundane word, by the influence of the word äi one
will be freed from all suffering.
The word
äi is derived from the Sanskrit word Äryä. Those who call Çré Gaurasundara's
mother "Äi" will be freed from all miseries.
TEXT 375
putrera
çré-mufeha defehi' äi jagan-mätä nija-deha äi nähi jäne ache kothä
On seeing
the lotus face of her son, Çacé, the mother of the universe, forgot where she
was.
While
seeing the lotus face of Çré Gaurasundara, mother Çacé forgot herself. Being
bewildered by the beauty of the Lord's face, she even forgot her motherly
sentiments and her parental affection for her son.

When
Viçvambhara went to sleep, the demigods would secret- ly take leave.
